What are building plans?

Building plans are structured design plans of buildings that give the necessary information to the viewer (e.g. local authority employee, construction project manager, building contractors etc.) to understand how the proposed building is built and the exact position it is to be situated on the property.

Why do you need submit building plans and get building plan approval?

Apart from repairing a building that has degraded from ordinary wear and tear or for normal maintenance purposes, all forms of building work requires building plans to be submitted to the local authority for approval.
